According to some right-wingers, what makes both these folks the same is they want to assert more control over your lives | image tagged in office same picture, adolf hitler, hitler, john mccain, right wing, big government | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Lol you crack me up

I voted for the guy on the right in ‘08 — no regrets, and I’m sure plenty others here did too

...and IF we had an opportunity by occupying a position of power.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

There's usually at least one exception to every rule.

I think I fell into the trap of using a common slogan or phrase, which means that you're right to call me out for being wrong. What I should have said is that he could have been elected president as many times as he wanted to. It was him setting the standard for giving up the power of the presidency after two terms, peacefully transitioning the power to the next person, that I was getting at. Thanks for pointing out the sloppy way I went about making my point. I'm serious when I say that. Sometimes it's too easy to just react to a post without thinking it through all the way.

All that having been said, I think Washington is a good example of why your statement that our evil is always commensurate with the level of power we wield.

Not always.

There are billions of Maos, Hitlers, and Stalins walking among us. Fortunately they've not had the opportunity to "express" themselves.

Typical outlook of a libertarian or other proponent of minimalist government

I hope your ideal nightwatchman state stays big enough to counter the latter -- the axiomatic principles of voluntaryism and intrafirm competition aren't sufficient to deter private corporate abuses in many cases, including problems of negative externalities like pollution which affect even those who haven't agreed to contract.

Oh this will be an easy one. What are some tyrannical corporate practices?

1. Pollution
2. Putting out unsafe or untested products into the market
3. Workplace discrimination
4. Violations of workplace safety standards
5. Deceptive or actually illegal business practices
6. Donating millions and lobbying to get laws changed in their favor
7. Colluding with their theoretical competitors to raise prices on consumers
8. Buying out competitors with the aim of achieving perfect horizontal and vertical integration and monopoly or monopoly-like status
9. Underpaying employees and relying on subsidies and welfare transfers (i.e. taxpayer dollars) to top up their employees' income
10. Cheating on taxes

Just the first 10 things that came to mind

Looking at these issues in a simple forced/not-forced dichotomy as you suggest is overly simplistic and exactly the type of attitude described in the bottom panel of my meme above

It is in fact government regulation, along with the threat of (and actual) prosecution, as well as privately-brought class-action lawsuits targeting such violations, which keeps a lid on these activities. But weaken these safeguards, and you'll get more of the above.

Not to mention how an unregulated industry such as the triple A gaming industry has so much contempt for the buyer, they make unfinished, dull, bland, soulless cash grabs and floods them with microtransactions.

Told what

I have a stream where I collect my own reaction memes

The memes do not violate TOS on their own and they do not violate TOS together

This is an even bigger speech tyrant move than your attempt to delete SexStream

At least with that one you had the “porn” argument, inconsistent though it was with other similar streams

Now you’re just targeting a stream with a decidedly liberal political viewpoint because you don’t like it

If you think the stream is about a personal feud with anyone you’re mistaken

It is just about keeping my favorite reaction memes organized and airing my own liberal viewpoints

Any meme that I feel is too personal, I omit from the stream

For example memes that reference you by name, as I did recently in a different thread after you created a reaction meme that mentioned me by name

Stream MODs have the right to disapprove or delete content, and everyone does it, right or left.

But I really don’t delete much of anything to be honest.

Siccing the Global MODs on someone else’s stream simply because you don’t like their content is more tyrannical IMO.

Just don’t visit or start your own stream.

They knew exactly what they were doing. They absolutely did not think they were doing good. They were greedy, sociopathic scumbags, every one. What they did was only to enrich themselves and solidify their power.

Sure, there were many useful idiots under them that thought what they were doing was for the greater good. But they were wrong.. many of them dead wrong.

Totally. Such types simply hijack whatever movements, tailoring them to suit their own selfish purposes.

Projection, Mr NobecauseLeftist, hence why you didn't notice the the translucent greyish (with the sightest hint of lavender to match his skin tone) tone of my caption?

Yes, even the colors I pick are in line with what I'm conveying, not that I would expect you to pick up on that.

We aren't all sociopaths. Otherwise why would there exist a category of people/behavior called.. "sociopaths"? LOL
0 ups, 5y
A sociopath wouldn't notice a difference precisely because their condition would hamper the ability to have any other frame of reference. It would be like trying to describe the color blue to a blind person.
