The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution of the United States (Article VI, Clause 2), established that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constituted the "supreme Law of the Land", and thus took priority over any conflicting state laws.
Further, immigration is under the total purview of the Federal Government. States cannot make immigration laws.
So, in this case, the states have no legal standing in violating federal immigration laws.
