People following the politicsTOO stream don't get that it's for Liberals, not conservatives. If they don't want to see Liberal memes, then they should go to the politics stream.

A lot of people are pre-committed to “small government” and low tax rates, and the notion that individuals not government solve problems.

They also have it in their minds that fighting climate change will require them to give up basic activities like driving cars and eating meat, when there are tons of other ways to fight climate change which are not as intrusive as banning those things. (A simple carbon tax, for instance.)

So: in a misguided effort to fight this perceived threat to their own lifestyles, they seize upon any little bit of data they can in the hopes of disproving the theory that man made greenhouse gases are the predominating factor contributing to global rises in temperature today.

What they don’t realize is that climate scientists are already aware of all that data — in many cases, it’s data climate scientists *themselves* have produced — and that 97% of scientists studying this issue have concluded these counterpoints do not debunk the basic theory.

They also don’t realize that failing to fight climate change now will result in tremendous costs later. They May be preserving their own lifestyle in the short-term by burying their heads in the sand. But they are only ensuring their children and children’s children, and their children and so on, will have a bleak future. Not to mention the inevitable damage to, and extinction of, other species as they lose their habitats.

Long answer to a short question :) thanks for posting.

And please don’t leave this stream PD, your memes are great as always and very welcome here!

You mean those 3 are backed like science just like the scientific evidence that Global Warming is not a real phenomenom, as witnessed by its own proponenets renaming it Climate Change?

Yet you disparagingly equated those not sharing this belief with what?
Faith IS faith. Facts, however...

a problem with the climate change initiative is that governments in the united states are imposing taxes upon the citizens instead of coming up with real solutions, leading a fair few to believe that it's a myth to give the government more money.

that is true. the more the government can tax the people, the more the government can subsidize to oil companies

Government taxes people to pay oil companies subsidies to make oil they sell to people on which the people pay a tax. Meanwhile oil companies avoid paying taxes.

Seems legit.

Oil is heavily subsidized to the point that US consumers pay half - that's HALF - of what is should cost them.
That's why most countries (save for a few producers trying to con their populace) pay double - that's DOUBLE - or more of what Americans pay.

Who makes out?

The companies, with the consumer conned into thinking they're paying less while they're paying for it through getting taxed.

Exactly. The wealthy make out. Take away the subsidies and alternatives sprout up.

T Boone Pickens pointed that out with his campaign to push for wind, etc.
