1. The “crime” at issue is based on Russian-fueled conspiracy, hearsay, and supposition rather nothing solid;
2. You’re pressuring a foreign government to do it rather than the expert lawyers in your own FBI;
3. You’re running a shadow foreign policy using your unelected and unappointed personal lawyer;
4. You’re only interested in the son of a political opponent.

I would agree with him that it would be “uncharted territory.” Whenever that happens, it’s typically up to how popular the president is if they can push it through. A popular leader can shape constitutional norms as we’ve seen before in our history. But I doubt that someone with the stain of impeachment on them would have that kind of political pull.
