He had this "7 words you can't say on tv" bit that folks hail as an ultimate classic, and they say his comedy albuns were great. All I can recall is this "Baseball vs Football" bit that while well crafted and interesting, seemed to go on forever, and he assured it did by repeating it word for word from the late 1970s till his death. SNL, Carson, Letterman, Conan, Spuggy Squittmark in the Texaco bathroom stall on Exit 15 in Chipmunk Ohio off of I-87... you name it, he did it and ONLY it for decades.
Folks swear by him, but I found him a tad too taken up with his own calculated cleverness. Not ultra smug like Bill Maher, but a little too cutesy with it nevertheless. But tbf, I've not heard enough of his material to make a proper assestment.
