Well, it sounds ridiculous on the face of it, but to be fair, with the way American law is set up, they only ruled that they could /sue/ them, they never said they had a snowball's chance in hell of winning.
You go that route, and eventually people will start suing the US gov't, since the gov't allowed gun makers to legally operate.
