I try to be understanding of people's situations and intentions in issues like this but it's like this:
when I was in HS our choral group did a Tom Sawyer musical. Now there were no black kids in the group so the teacher selected one of the kids to play/sing the part of a black grandmother. The girl happened to be my very best friend and she was required to do the part in black face. As racist as this may seem, she was 15-years old and it was not her decision to make (a stupid, insensitive choice on the part of the choral director). But now compare this against the knowing actions of a full grown man, one who has sorely tried to portray himself as a race-sensitive individual. And he made the choice to do it more than once. Liberals pardon me, but I am having a problem not thinking Trudeau is a closet racist.

Thank-you, and no she wasn't. Mary was a beautiful person. Never met a stranger on her life and very generous. Could sing like an angel. She and her husband were unable to have children of their own so adopted several. At her funeral over 33 of their foster children showed up.

Liberal or conservative...I wouldn’t say the act of wearing blackface (even a couple times) Especially as a young(er) person is indicative of a person overall. It could be...but the overall actions of the person should/would outweigh a couple stupid acts 20 years prior like blackface. Someone that continues to make stupid decisions and do stupid things continually....should be scrutinized harsher. Not defending Trudeau...wearing blackface is idiotic. If It was 10 years ago...20 years ago...doesn’t matter. It was idiotic then. However I would say his actions since then wouldn’t fall under “racist” and I’d welcome anyone to provide any proof otherwise.

Anyone who gets caught wearing blackface (in the past or present) should be publicly ridiculed. They deserve that. And they should have a chance to explain their idiocy and if they choose ask to be “forgiven” if they feel they want to do that. Maybe they could use the event to mend racial divides. Maybe not. But they shouldn’t be labeled anything based on a couple dumb decisions.

I think comedians shouldn't be held back by political correctness but I think she cries about things she finds 'offensive'. She was the one who said she felt the US flag her bf put up in the backyard was offensive because of nationalistic tones or something .
