If that were true, they wouldn't even ask for a letter from the whistleblower. They would just use the document. ANY witness should be subject to cross examination.

That's what the trial in the Senate is for.
The House gathers evidence. The decides to recommend for prosecution or not.

It's like a grand jury. Lawyers aren't allowed into the grand jury room. Just the witnesses.

What you said about house procedure on impeachment is true, but there is one glaring problem. The democrats STILL haven't shown ANY evidence to move forward with impeachment.
That is Truth & anyone able to think in simple logic & is intellectually honest knows this.
Never mind the 3 years long hunt for anything at all to bring impeachment coming up completely empty. Even worse, that hunt has shown more abuses by house democrats than Trump has come close to committing.
