Not really, the US is the top producer of oil currently and very little of that is exported. However, some US Companies (and politicians) want to make money out of their oil....
BTW, Bin Laden's mentor and co-founder of Al-Qaeda was a Palestinian, his second in command was an Egyptian, and his third in command who actually created the 9/11 attacks was a Pakistani.
