Obama was a community organizer. Did he ever have a real job until president?

Whereas Trump had a TV show for a reason and was a billionaire real estate magnate long before NBC came calling. He had ups and downs in the business to be sure, but then who doesn't. He was still considered a successful businessman by any standard. What was Obama doing apart from community organizing and being groomed as the Democratic Party's token negro to run for president based on no other merit than the color of his skin.

Obama kicked off his political career in the living room of convicted domestic terrorist Bill Ayers of the radical 60's group, The Weather Underground. He won his election to the senate under questionable circumstances at best, then when he was elected president his policies and massive overreach were so unpopular he caused the Democratic Party the biggest loss of power since Eisenhower throughout his 8 year political jihad on our country.
