Really, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the policy change and Trump's stance on Birthright Citizenship. I mean, what other reason to come on here than hear how you guys are defending such policies that are in staunch opposition to our constitutional rights. Usually, SydneyB, you come off as a voice of reason when you're not harassing liberal trolls.

If an illegal sneaks across the border, having built nothing, hasn't paid into the system, and delivers a child, I'll never accept the idea that that is right. Regardless of whichever country they come from in the world. Sorry.

Same idea with someone that has a foreign born partner and hasn't lived in the US for five years. Now, this policy I would defend a whole lot less than ending birthright citizenship. I personally think Trump has more important things to address than people working for the US and their children.

Now, go back and read the policy issued by the administration (not just the headline) then come back and try again. Somehow I don’t think what you were trying to say is what the actual policy is trying to do

In it you'll find the following:

"Policy Highlights
...

2. Explains that USCIS no longer considers children of U.S. government employees and U.S.
armed forces members residing outside the United States as “residing in the United States”
for purposes of acquiring citizenship under INA 320.3 "

The policy appears to be aimed at military families who have not lived in the United States for years. According to the immigration agency, the change would not affect the children of families with at least one parent who is an American citizen and has lived in the United States for at least five years.

You'll also find that the President has promised, many times, to end Birthright citizenship, meaning anyone born inside the US no longer are automatically considered U.S. born citizens. I can link you to his statements as well if you don't believe that either.

Over the past five years, there have been between 20 and 25 cases per year that would've been potentially affected by it, the official said."

I don't care which side of an issue I'm on, I will absolutely not believe a post that refers to an an article on the "CBS News website" as being anything close to credible. They have an agenda, they report opinion as news. It's that simple.
