I like 2. Just warmed and crispy enough to melt butter.

But the butter has to melt

Get room temperature butter, spread it the moment the bread comes out of the toaster.

It's even worse when it's hard

I have developed bread buttering into a science. Oh and I hate jelly on toast.

It's not bad. But I do eat just straight up peanut butter sandwiches

da outside be crispy and da inside be soft

it really depends on the type of bread. if its the good honey wheat stuff, i'd eat it plain. if not, i'd say 5
