Bottom line, all engineers suck. Architects too. Sometimes I wish I could grab them, drag them to a project and force them to show us just exactly how their shit supposed to work.

Not all. Yes, they should at least spend summers working a job site to know what the hell is going on but the ones I've dealt with work as a team with everyone involved because they realize that.

Originally I wanted to be an architect and took it for 2yrs but the math involved, I was nooooo good at so I just became an artist and sub contractor. But I do see my share of inpracticalities because alot have never seen it in "action". As a finisher they do f**k shit up pretty good and forces us to be creative in its execution, which is fine because it just makes us better problem solvers.

I've been one job site where the architects would show up on weekends to take measurements of what we've built, so they could draw up plans for that construction and give it to us the following week.

This was years ago. There were definitely no women involved.

I'm a woman, and it doesn't get my panties in a bunch. But then again I'm not a melty little snowflake looking to be offended about at every turn.

I don't like it because at every step of the way, there are comments like this that help push women away from fields they may excel at. I've spoken to far too many women who worked their entire career as the single female in an engineering firm. They have to put up with it in high school, put up with it in college, and then put up with it their entire career by both co-workers and by the general public. Girls don't need to like pink dolls for Christ sake. It's 2019 already and people need to get up to date and stop the generalizing.

Yeah well, I know plenty of successful professional women and we have a much better sense of humor than you are willing to give us credit for. It certainly is 2019 already and about darned time social reformers acknowledge women don't need them treating us like we are too fragile to understand or take a joke. That treatment is condescending and only serves the goal of making division and distrust between the sexes.

Oh, and if either my daughter or granddaughter asks for a pink doll or a Disney Princess gown and tiara or even an Easy Bake oven, I'll get it for her. And the sensitive little reformers can rend their clothes and gnash their teeth till the cows come home.
