On a similar note, killing oneself as a way of lashing out is better than killing others. Either way, this is a mental disorder more than anything and that is the real issue. There is nothing going on in this country that warrants either action unless you're mentally unstable.

I understand you were making a joke by playing on words,but this is like the 6th or 7th meme I have seen today marginalizing this man,and reducing his extreme (very extreme) form of protesting.

I don't know why,maybe it is just a bad day for me,but I find this subtle chiding of a man who doused himself with accelerant and lit himself ON FIRE as a form of protest,to be examined..and understood...not slyly ridiculed.

I find it to be a form of dishonesty.a disingenuine attempt to marginalize and dismiss a person who has obviously reached a point of such desperation and social consciousness as to literally set themselves aflame to bring attention to a situation and/or perceived threat.

this subtle dismissal by way of sly ridicule is exactly how power and privilege responds to threats to their dominance and hegemony.

and while the majority of americans are bedazzled and hypnotized by their digital hallucinations,snug in their own comfort and safety.millions of americans reside in a constant battle for survival.
these are the forgotten,the marginalized and ostracized.they are America's hidden shame.

you won't see them on the MSM.
they aren't covered in the NYT and WAPO.
we aren't allowed to discuss them openly,and if they are discussed.it is either in hushed whispers or to be trotted out to ridicule and chide (and to put the fear of almighty god into those who are a paycheck away from financial ruin).

Most people do dismiss the guy as just a "nut" which he may well be but whatever beliefs or feelings drove him to do that must have been deep and painful.
