The OP of the meme, DrStrangeFate, himself posted another meme complaining about the issue months ago. Here's the kicker: He wasn't upvoting the comments on HIS meme complaining about not getting upvotes.

Scrolling down now, I noticed he hasn't replied to any but a couple near the bottom either.

That's exactly what he's doing.

I busted him using alts to upvote himself once - late night, wee am hours, 3 -4 upvotes in minutes when no one was about. He tried to turn it on me, but his last comment only got 1 upvote to date, and this was in rapid succession.

I upvoted the comments on this thread. I usually don't respond to comments if I can't think of a reply (Like on this thread) I don't know how the upvote system works on this site and I would like to see proof that I once used alts on this site.

Now I did not say you used alts. Nothing wrong with not responding. I don't respond either if I don't have time or an idea. I will just upvote and move on.

We all get busy. I am sorry for this conversation. I really don't run around accusing people of things, but I did go along with this conversation and made some speculation against my better judgement. I hope you accept my apology.

It happens to my memes all of the time, and I don't understand the lack of the upvote when it happens.

But still, you can't hold it against folks who are fairly new to the site. They need time to learn :)

It goes in cycles. As new blood comes in, many never bother to learn the “rules” of the site.

Some it’s I made a meme I want upvotes! But they never bother with being part of the society. They tend to have short presence here.

Then there are the noobs that don’t get it at first, but learn and become part of the society. They still need a gentle push now and then.

And of course there will be the you don’t tell me what to do types. Once ignored, they tend to move in because they are looking for attention to state how much they don’t care about attention.

So. Memes like this one should be used on a regular basis for the education of newcomers. I was helped by a top memer when I first started (old account long since deleted) and it made a world of difference. Made me feel welcome.
