There is a notion behind MinMinPhx's statement that "Democrats want them to become citizens because they can buy their votes with promises of “free” healthcare, education, and welfare." and it comes from Republican endorsed policies.

Ronald Reagan openly and proudly stated that by granting 3 million illegals citizenship, he was handing the Republican Party 3 million thankful voters.

George W Bush - eager to be seen as a Reagan emulator - also stated the same in his proposed plan to grant citizenship to 10 million illegals. In addition, he suggested giving them benefits galore, including immediately becoming eligible for Social Security without having paid a cent into it like citizens are required to over many years of employment.

Then there's "Foot on the Ground" immigrants who are almost always granted citizenship simply by having come from places like the USSR, Cuba, Korea...
Republicans never stop reminding them that somehow they're the only ones responsible for the program, which also includes free rent for 18 months (used to be 24), living expenses, school, medical benefits, plus grants and interest free loans to start businesses, etc. That's why, for example, the majority of Cubans are Republicans, unlike all other Hispanics whose majorities tend to lean Democrat.

Such brazenly cynical ploys are typical of the myopic Republican mindset, and thus is what they project as the motives of others.

Their actions say that’s what they believe in. And actions speak louder than words.

They want to legalize abortion and give women the OPTION to do it and make it easier to become a US citizen. Nowhere in there do they prefer killing babies over letting them live or preffering immigrants over Americans. But you can sure as heck paint it that way. Just like I painted the Republicans view in that light in my comment on the meme

Encouraging Illegal immigration by not enforcing existing immigration laws does NOT make it easier to become a US citizen. Most of these people could care less about citizenship. Democrats want them to become citizens because they can buy their votes with promises of “free” healthcare, education, and welfare.

Nobody thinks legal immigrant children should be separated from their parents. The ILLEGAL immigrant children are getting separated because the parents are being arrested and put in jail to be processed. Or would you rather have the kids in jail too, witnessing their parents being processed, fingerprinted, and questioned?

The other factor is that all those "parents" are endangering those children's lives, like the one little girl who died because her father dragged her across the desert with not enough food and water, then didn't tell the people at border security that she was sick.

And I bet you believe those children are held in cages for days on end while their parents are processed, when in fact those cages (first used by Obama, btw) are just holding areas until the children can be placed in comfortable dormitory rooms for the duration of their wait, with beds, food, and even education available.

While everything you said is true, you are assuming that everybody agrees with your opinion that these things are good.

Not everybody agrees that abortion is moral, whether for religious or personal conviction.

Not everybody agrees that allowing people to enter the country illegally and unvetted is a good thing.

Not everybody agrees that allocating more resources to non-citizens at the expense of helping our veterans or homeless citizens is moral or good.

Just because somebody disagrees with your opinion, does mean they are immoral, yet that seems to be the position of many on the left.

People are getting tired of hearing that if you don't agree with the left's opinion, you're immoral, racist, xenophobic, fascist, or whatever. We need to have discussions on these issues, but the left would rather just call people name.

I don't agree that letting people enter the country illegally and unvetted is a good idea. Of course, there is also the President who doesn't think it is a good idea. There are also a bunch of border patrol agents that said on TV that it was a bad idea. Then there are the 45 or so people who upvoted this meme who also don't think it is a good thing. I am sure there are millions more, but since I don't know them, I don't want to speak for them.

So yes, not everybody agrees with the left that this is a good idea.

Only the government is able to control a nation! How can a corporation possibly control if it’s always possible to work for a different company or even create competition?! Unlike the government, corporations earn their wealth!

The government only subsidizes corrupt corporations that can be used to control people. Besides, without government, corporations would simply be unable to do this!
