THIS IS A SOLAR FARM IN MINNESOTA. It supplies enough energy for overcast days and doesn't cause black lung disease or asthma or TV blackouts. Someone tell Donald. | image tagged in solar power, energy, trump | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

And it starts losing efficiency from day one, useful life of 25 years and then it's a pile of trash. Better fence out the wildlife, they don't need habitat and they'll just damage stuff. It would take solar panels covering the entire state of Connecticut to supply 1/2 of NYCs need. THAT'S SMART ENERGY!

Solar panels are chock-full of toxic heavy metals rendering them unfit to go in the trash. Same with all the scraps and rejects during manufacturing.

Solar is fine , but it's not a substitute for the enormous 24/7 energy requirements of an industrialised nation.

Either wait for better technology or drastically reduce your power consumption and night-availability.

flag this for fake news. solar tech is still way behind in sustainability. if you actually bought solar stock you'd know.

Takes a lot of lead acid batteries to store enough electricity for night time. All those lithium ion batteries take lots of very very rare metals. That’s a lot of CO2 producing energy consumed in mining to produce those batteries.
