Or at least let us KNOW that it was actually denied, rather than wondering whether maybe it slipped through the cracks, that maybe a mod forgot to hit "approve", or whether it got vote-bombed out of featured.

And if it DID get vote-bombed out of featured, more upvotes than downvotes should be able to bring it back into featured.

True. being able to submit them again instead of redoing them from scratch would save a lot of time&effort

Well you can, just save the meme to your drive and use "upload your own image"

sure.
still a few steps to do though (tagging, title)
and eventually the blueprint will get flagged&unfeatured as 'no original content' :D

So I submitted a screenshot of it and it made front page. But apparently you have to add text or something because screenshots don't often get featured right away since it just looks like a blank template to them.

So the left image is a screenshot right is made from scratch image.

I support the proposal in general, I do see one downside. If a meme is denied (or unfeatured) for very good reasons, should people have the possibility to re-post it then? Like memes that are solely meant to attack other users, for instance? If that can be there, I'd be for it. A meme that was not allowed in one stream but fits the rules of another, should definitely be directly repostable there.

That’s what the mods are for, sure...But most if not all of my unfeatured memes to date were in site/stream compliance. Simply some mod exercising subjective opinion (esp. in the politics stream).

Lots of pro-Trump memes and anti-Democrat memes there, aren't there? I see that pattern too, then again, I did manage to get some memes featured there that go against that stream. What I simply fear is should a "I hate user X" meme be denied in stream A, that they shouldn't be simply sent to stream B, etc, but should a political meme accidentally be sent to cats, and be denied, being able to send it to politics anyway without having to recreate it could be a good thing.

Okay, now I /really/ don't get the "front page" algorithm...

2 days old, only 18 upvotes and 107 views? How is this on front page? (Not that I'm dissing the meme, mind you)

1) Save it to your PC

2) Upload it as your own image.

3) Type the text in. You probably only need 2 boxes, no matter how many you originally had.

4) Font: Arial, size 1 px, No caps, No shadow, Outline width 0. Font color either black or white. Arial is a lot "thinner" than Impact, so easier to make "disappear".

5) Shrink the boxes ALMOST to minimum.

6) Move them so the font color is the same as where you're moving it to, i.e., if the background will be white, use white font.

7) Shrink the boxes till they're not visible.

8) Generate.

9) Just COPY the tags, title, etc. The above can be done in about 5 minutes.

I've done it LOADS of times, particularly when reposting to multiple streams.

(For instance, the booty, Boobs and legsetc mods don't have a problem with something posted in Fun or in one of those other streams being reposted in their stream if it fits the stream theme.)
