What liberals forget is that we are NOT one country divided into 50 states. We are 50 sovereign states united ONLY where we agree to be united. To outside concerns, we're one entity. Internally we're 50 and that should never be allowed to be destroyed.

States with winner takes all nullifies the votes of those that didn't vote for the majority earning candidate within the State. Although in actuality, not exactly nullified since those votes against are actually applied towards that candidate those people did not vote for.

So by granting votes to a candidate that did not win them, the Electoral College is an exceedingly unfair and hypocritical corruption of the voting process.

If the people voted for president then you’d have a point. But we don’t. We vote for our electors who then vote. Not unfair at all. More than fair. If we directly elected the president then the excess votes in larger states would overpower the votes in smaller states and that state’s voice would not be heard. We are sovereign states, not one country split into 50 regions.
