Pretty much spot on analogy, now fast forward the United States a few millennium in the future and add in some star systems.

I appreciate them revealing things, but at the same time leaking classified information is still illegal.

If the president obama made classified documents revealing his plan to kill non muslim Americans... then being a patriot is not a crime.. it's whistleblowing..

Lots of immoral things in history have been made illegal. It is no excuse to persecute whistle-blowers. Regardless of the risks they stood up and did the right thing. Good for them. I highly respect them. Now it's our turn to change the laws and policies that made them have to sacrifice so much to make us aware.
