Yeah, see, we're actually much more rigorous about what that means and it's not something his "doctor" can write in a note for him. We'd need to show real commitment to his new identity. And he's free to start hormone therapy any time he likes. (It'd be a lot healthier than all those burgers.)

He's not the first person to suggest to the trans community that they can be so easily trolled so don't be surprised to hear that there are very clear criteria about when it's sincere and when it's intended to undermine the entire basis of the community.

So there is some sort of council of gender dysmorphic people who are gate-keeping and deciding arbitrarily who gets to be gender dysmorphic and who doesn't. That sounds more that a little bit hypocritical.

We need to be absolutely clear on what mental illness means. You're not mentally ill if you're not in mental distress.

So what you wrote below is correct but then you got it wrong on this comment: gender identity disorder is a mental condition; it is mental distress caused by the gender identity they've been given. When they can adopt the identity that is more true to themselves, the distress goes away.

Transgenderism is not the illness: it's the treatment for GID. Kids stop killing themselves when they're true identity is embraced and supported - internally and externally. And that's supported by 240 years of medical research that critics of transgenderism never read.

Mental illness is not a bucket of social behavior we don't like - it was in the 1850's, but we've abandoned that definition. We are much more clear today about what that is, what it means, and what action we need to take.

That is why I argue back with you - because your understanding of mental illness is not medically up to date.

But the big takeaway is this: the diagnostic criteria is stringent and precise; the only controversy surrounding it in the medical - yes, medical - community is to account for the very precise cases where the criteria does not serve the interests of a patient already diagnosed with GID.

In conclusion, you cannot lightly troll your way into claiming dysphoria. It does not work that way. You can call it gatekeeping, but you can't come into the doctor's office with a limp and claim your leg is broken when it isn't and that's the exact same thing.

WOW, I didn't hear that Trump had been charged and convicted of a felony. Do you have a link to that?

Nope. But when Cohen was charged and convicted for a felony crime, he was the unindicted coconspirator. He told Cohen to do it, and paid him for it. Many people think if he wasnt President he would be found guilty, but as of now he is innocent. The only problem I have with the whole Cohen thing is that so far all I have heard is Cohen saying it is so. I have not seen any mention of proof to corroborate what he is saying. I listened to all of Cohen's testimony and he came off as nothing more than a disgruntled employee rather than someone trying to get the truth out, but of course, I do have a bias.

I think it would be very difficult to get a conviction or even an indictment based purely on Cohen's statements, but I could be very wrong.

Yeah, maybe Mueller can corroborate. But, it's not like he would illegally pay off stormy just because he wants to. He has no benefit from that.
