Or do you really believe the continental army was fully formed, trained, and equipped for battle the day we declared independence? What lunacy from someone who claims to be an educator. The revolution was started and largely fought by people who prior to the war, were non-combatants. The same goes for the majority of the revolutions that threw the Spaniards out of the new world.

You're talking about the minutemen who picked up a rifle to make their stand. Their families and associates who couldn't serve as soldiers suffered greatly for their actions. The occupation of New York generated refugees. The battles in Boston and the southern states generated refugees. And when the Continental Army started to turn the tide, the refugees flocked in the other direction - loyalist civilians fleeing from the consequences of supporting the losing side. Canada had to take them all in at the end of the war. Again: nobody expected them to make their stand back home as the war had already been lost for them.

In every war there is a civilian casualty that causes mass displacement of people who are not fighters and would simply be slaughtered if they stayed behind to fight.

If you lack empathy and want to send them back to their deaths, then that's your prerogative - but do not quote the American Revolution to me as though that were some magical time when this did not happen because it absolutely did and you cannot rewrite history to suit your narrative.

I never said that Hispanic immigrants aren't law abiding. Immigrants in general that come here legally tend to respect our laws more than natives. illegal aliens are criminals by definition and don't belong here.

However, the meme is really about people staying in their own countries and fixing the problems there.

I mean from an American perspective immigrants are good. Its hard to fix their own countries and they would rather come to the land of opportunity. Your meme says if they want more freedom they should fight for it at home, and just shows a mass of Hispanic immigrants. That seems pretty anti immigrant to me. Undocumented immigrants shouldn't be here obviously. I would be careful, to equate illegal immigrants with Hispanic immigrants, like Trump did. They can fight for it, which many are, or they can come to America, the land of opportunity, which Italians, Irish, ect did and became Americans. It seems like you dont want them to come here. Why not?

I never equated all Hispanic's with illegal aliens. I am just showing an actual caravan of people leaving their countries and traveling to the U.S. Unless they try to cross our border without permission, they are just people migrating.

My other question is if they are so good and important to our country, wouldn't they be just as good and important to their own country? Isn't leaving without a fight just going to have these countries spiral downward even more? It would be better for us and the world in general if these people stayed and made their own country better.

Would it be better for us? Historically large masses of uneducated immigrants move into the US in a ghettoized state, and then assimilate becoming regular Americans. Americas success is in a large part due to being able to attract immigrants who become Americans. It would be better for their countries because the immigrants are draining the country of people, but from an American point of view how is it a bad thing?
