Nuclear energy isn't exactly "green"just ask the folks who lived near Fukushima & Chernobyl, We had Three Mile Island. This stuff has a half life of a million years. All of our nuclear power plants are ancient,& poorly maintained ;we have 104. Any of them could do what Fukushima did,& then OUR breastfeeding mothers would have radioactive milk,just as Tokyo women did. Those plants need to be safely decommissioned before something goes wrong. With hurricanes & floods increasing, the odds of an accident are rising as old equipment bears stresses it was never meant to contain.
As for destroying our economy, I'd say Trump is already helping to speed that train along!

Nuclear energy when run correctly is the cleanest safest resource we have. The liberals have long been against it because the bi-product produces fuels for weapons. Ignoring the facts though, we have a nuclear submarine program and have never had a mishap during the entire time it's been in operation. The reason we don't have any NEW reactors is because rocket scientist Jimmy Carter helped initiate and pass a ban on them under his 4 years. India, Pakistan and Iran all have more sophisticated nuclear plants than we do now and they were built using work by our scientists.

I remember 3 Mile Island happening on his watch. Not to mention the Iran hostage crisis ,all also because of his ineptitude.
