Some guy saw a photo of coal miners having a drink in a pub. In the photo, the miners were covered in soot and he called it racist and said they were in blackface.
The NY Times has said that Mary Poppins is racist for the scene where they are covered in soot.
Your voter registration point is pointless. If half the country doesn't participate then "over half the country" isn't leftist.
"The left owns the middle" what the hell does that even mean?... Moderates aren't left or right. That's why they call themselves moderates...
"even if you're right about the numbers" You mean the exact same numbers you regurgitated to me claiming it was more current information? hahah
But even if I concede those points, when you combine the non-participants with the conservatives you get more than half the country.
Let's run through the numbers. 2016 estimated 55% voter turnout. Your "more current information" [haha!] says 35% of them are conservative. 35% * 55% = 19%. Add that to the 45% that didn't participate and you get 64% that are either conservative or don't participate. If you combine the moderates and liberals from the 55% that participate you get (34%+26%) * 55% for a whopping 33%.
You're just wrong my friend. You doubled down on it and you lost. I can do this all day bruh
Doubling down on minutiae and ignoring the actual point. How droll.
There isn't a single person in the nation that's exactly 50/50. All moderates lean one direction or the other, and there are significantly more moderate Democrats than there are moderate Republicans. You're also trying to make the claim that people who don't vote don't have political stances. That's ridiculous.
And again, this whole conversation is inconsequential. Answer to the actual point of the post.
Either learn how to lose with dignity or don't make such bold claims. I work with the data that's available. If you have stats on the political views of non-participants let's see it, otherwise you're just talking outta your ass
Also there's a ton of people who identify as social liberal/fiscal conservative. That's pretty much 50/50.
I used to consider myself a liberal when gay marriage and oil wars were more prominent voting issues. Liberals used to care about freedom. Now they want censorship and socialism and 9 month abortions. The farther left the left goes, the more voters they'll lose. It's already happening around the world. Enjoy the show
Aside from the fact that Republican presidential candidates haven't won the popular vote since 2004? And that the total number of votes in all races have favored Democrats for the past decade? And that each new generation of voters skews more and more liberal?
"Almost all of the shift since 2001 toward the liberal label is the result of Democrats increasingly adopting the term."
Those "moderates" that don't identify with liberal or conservative? Yeah, they're slightly more liberal than they are conservative. It's not that they are becoming more liberal, per se - it's that they're becoming more comfortable with the term (or, more likely, uncomfortable with any proximity to the term "conservative" because of how readily conservatives have embraced Trump).
It's not about who has more hard-liners. It's about who has more of the middle. We do, and increasingly so.
My argument stands uncontested. Yes, that's a victory. I'll be watching your posts. If you make a fool of yourself again, I'll be there to point it out :)
I see you're going to continue to ignore the voter registration point and the assertion that the left owns the middle. Can't win if you don't play, sunshine.
I also see that you're not addressing the original point I was making and are instead focusing on an unimportant detail of the post. Even if you're right and I'm wrong about the numbers (you're not, but whatever), the point is that I've pointed out a gaping spot of hypocrisy of conservatives here.
The saddest part is that you're unaware of how retarded you are. Your "more current information" is based on the same study as mine, which was in 2017, and it says the exact same thing - Liberals (~2 years ago) were at 26%. That is far from "over half the country". You're also forgetting that half the country doesn't even participate in politics. You're friggin clueless
Not super jazzed about polls? How about voter registrations: Among the 31 states (plus D.C.) with party registration, there are nearly 12 million more registered Democrats than Republicans.
And yet when some far left whackadoo says something stupid, it's ok to apply that line of thinking to all liberals? Conservatives on here love to point out hypocrisy. Why aren't the rash of memes like this being called out?
Just saying, the far end of either side isn't a representative sample of that entire side. It's why Republicans don't like being called racists and Democrats don't like being called communists. It's a false equivalency on both ends. And if you rail against being called a racist because you're conservative but insist that liberals are all hyper-sensitive whiners, that's more than kind of hypocritical.
"Just saying, the far end of either side isn't a representative sample of that entire side. It's why Republicans don't like being called racists and Democrats don't like being called communists." I agree with that but it seems the left have far more "far leftist " than the right has "far right"
To be fair, what Mary Poppins was actually doing was dabbing black makeup in order to hang out with the chimney sweepers.
That's still bad. And if you can understand why an upper class woman faking a relatability with workers by scrubbing dirt over her face is in poor taste, you can understand how black people feel about blackface because it's the same thing but amplified by history.
This is a manufactured crisis by a super liberal college professor with nothing to do.. soot.. really soot is racist.. if you're falling for this you have to be really dumb.. but if you want something to bite your teeth into.. read up about how the Kennedy family didn't want ANY BLACK people at JFK's inauguration.. they didn't want to make him "Look Bad".. it's time to call out JFK for what he really was.. a racist.. and a bigot.. and if you want to take someone's name off of a bunch of monuments, roads and high schools.. there's where you should be looking !
You're one of those people who wants to talk about sixteen things at once so nobody ever gets a chance to discuss any one of them in detail, aren't you?
Right. Well, that's as much of my time as I'm going to invest in this, I think.
So I guess you think it's unrelated right.. well let me close the circle for you.. it's the same Era.. and while one movie is an innocent look at making upper class kids into better people by understanding the plight of "All people".. we had a president who was trying to keep people down because of their RACE. If you want to analyze a real problem in our history as a country I'm giving you one. Choose to ignore it if you choose, but it isn't going away, and we can't "white wash" our history because it's convenient.
I can see your point. I am predominately Italian. You should see how shows like Family guy and the Sopranos portray them. The differences is, one form of stereo typing gets a pass.
Allow me to shake your world by saying that I find Family Guy's portrayals of the Italian stereotype to be just as irritating as anything else and I wish that a) they'd stop doing that, and b) people would stop finding it funny. You'll find no inconsistency with me.
but McFarland gets a pass because he is liberal. Not right. Same thing with the black face. Megyn Kelly talked about it (dunno if she is liberal or not but hates trump) and got fired, But other ppl actually wore it and its ok? Hypocrisy. same thing with Bill Maher saying the N word a few times.
Black Veil Brides, who emulate the look of Crue and them. Apparantly big with the teen set, at least those into what watered down swill that calls itself Metal today.
My schoolmates(the durso bros) played studio guitar on one of Cinderellas later albums. Tom Kieffer lived with them for yrs on longacre drive in yeadon.Tom was good guitar player but got hooked bad on crack then, think he is sober now.Another pal with them was drummer for the hair band "Bullet Boys" Johnny Giossa, he died in a car crash in la. The 80's hair bands were good some of them but the excess got to many of them. I like Ratt and "fastway"
I basically cried through that era and wondered what happened to music. I retreated to HC Punk by 82, and that started sounding the same by 85, so that was that.
I wasn't much into that Glam scene, but liked some Ratt and WASP vids and thought Poison was pretty cool. Like they didn't take themselves so seriously in terms of the glossed up God thing. The only band I've seen of which all members had brains during interviews.
I take it you saw The Decline... 2? Goodness, people were really taken up with all that. I watched it in more recent years, so knowing the scene would end made it all kinda sad, and what's-his-face drunk on the floating chair in the pool, that was tragic.
There was a docu on PBS about Native Americans in pop music the other week, and there was some drummer in the Glam scene who died of cancer (I'm bad with names). One clip he's a star cheered by thousands, next he's wilted, dying. Was beyond heart breaking.
yup, there was a huge decline in rock music in the 80's, I like everything from the 60's 70's. Rush and Van Halen were 2 of the bands That I liked but a lot of the 80's, the others meh.. I was into some punk, Love the clash and ramones, and pistols. One of the dead Kennedys went to my HS but was older. They were ok
So weird because everything was awesome (even the pop pablum - The Carpenters, Captain & Tenille, even Disco in retrospect was kinda alright), 1977 was amazing, then as the 80s went on, yikes.
I got into more underground indie stuff, so found Hard Core Punk. The DKs was the 1st band of them I saw back then, in an all age matinee, haha. I got tired of them later because Jello's dickiness was more than just a front.
check out AXS channel, I have it on fios but u can see it online I think, they have a lot of cool interviews with dan rather with icons. They have a show called "top 10 lists" pretty much what u just said in first paragraph. its my fav channel. They also have making of classic albums.
Got Cablevision here. But Dan Rather? May sound like I should get over it, but I haven't been able to stomach him since he interviewed George HW Bush Sr (R.I.P.) when he first ran for President. Asking the 'hard questions' is one thing, but he was totally disrespectful and just kept on and on, way overdoing it. He made Bush into the underdog (in my eyes) and I decided right then he had my vote. We used to watch the news while eating dinner, and after that one, I switched it to WABC.
I am no Rather fan either but he does interview some mega icons, the remaining members of the Doors, Neil young, geddy Lee, Robert Plant,Brian Setzer, Gregg Allman, Dickey betz(feb),Roger Waters,Billy Gibbons, Cheryl crow, joan Baez,Steve miller, Gary rossington,Frampton, REM,Steve miller, sammy Hagar, meatloaf, and 20+ more.
You may want to ask your doctor to up your meds.. Cause there's only one person I know on here with more than one alias.. and he's reading this post.. and logging out of another character.. #Va**naMonologues #MassengilMoments #SpringtimeFresh #LiberalEmoWannabee

Aren't conservatives all mad because people keep calling them all racists as a result of the actions of a few?

Drats, why did my parents have to give me this Vaging name?
Here's a reward for your astounding ability at borrowing lines. Pretty soon you'll discover Avenge Sevenfold.
