Haha! I don't smoke! It was just a guess based on what my parents did over the last 50 years! I remember as a kid in the 70's my dad sending me to 7-11 with a $20 bill and a note saying "hokeewolf has my permission to buy a carton of Viceroys"

I remember buying smokes with a note for my parents, in the '80s. One corner store knew mum so well, I often didn't take a note.
