Yeah air compressors are cheap now. Plus you can use them for other things.

Don't know where he lives but, I live in Northeast Pa. and it costs $1.50 for 3 minutes. I have a home compressor so I'm good.

Master flow portable air compressor available at amazon for $31. I got mine at Walmart, but they don't sell it anymore. Very useful. Walmart has others, less expensive, probably lower quality.

I'm in Ga. Sometimes it's free sometimes it isn't. Then sometimes you have to go driving around to find a gas station that even has an air compressor.

Where I live, it may depend on whether or not you buy gas at the station. If you buy gas, you just go inside and let them know you need air, and they'll turn it on. Otherwise it's coin opperated. I think technically, where I live, they're supposed to turn it on for anyone who asks, as it is a safety issue to have under inflated tires on the road, but most people don't want to look cheap, so they they use the coin opperated function.
