Brandon makes a good point. The US isn’t immune to this either. I have a feeling that things are just going to get worse for other third-world nations throughout the world. If their governments are falling apart, it would make sense that things would continue to decline and more and more “refugees” would want to enter the US. My first question to asslyum seekers would be, “If things got bad here in the US, would you just up and leave...like you did with your home country”?

If we are bringing in people who really have no allegiance to the US other than to benefit from the fruits of this country while the tree is ripe, then when things get sour in the US, who are we to rely on to defend and maintain the integrity of our country if a large percentage are foreigners who only care about enriching themselves.

Rome fell to barbarians.. they let in Germanic tribes en masse under the agreement that they would fight for Rome. Over time Rome ended up weaker than the tribes living on their land and the germanics started to set up their own kingdoms which over time took over. Basically all of the above. Rome had a large empire it could hardly hold, and it also "printed" money by diluting their currency with normal metals.

It also was a corrupt government which overspent, leading to economic collapse everywhere. By time the barbarians made it to Rome, they were merely let in and welcomed.
