Saying Jesus was a refugee implies that He was at the mercy of mankind which further implies that He needed us-but He has NEVER needed us-but we have always needed this Him. This has NOTHING to do with politics.
The whole argument is stupid. Refugee or not, there was no massive welfare state. Nor was he likely to randomly rape, murder, or steal, and if he did they had pretty brutal forms of punishment.

The reason Jesus was born in a manager was due to the census. All the rooms in the town were already full when Joseph and Mary arrived.
