Not exactly true pal, any uk citizens who are an adult with no criminal record/ convictions or history of mental illness can apply for a fire arms certificate (FAC) then on completion of a police interveiw & home inspection to prove the weapons will be safe & secure will be issued the legal paperwork to show to arms dealers to make their purchases.
There are many gun clubs up and down the country.
It’s just that our laws and regulations for use and carrying of firearms is probably the strictest in the world.

It is a complicated issue. I hunt, my Grandfather collects guns but at the same time some thing should be done. I am for banning assault weapons and putting titles on all hand guns but , I am mostly for doing research on the issue ( which isn't really being done) and taking steps designed to address the major problems that we find.
