The funny thing is climate change isn't a left or right issue and I don't understand why idiots would want to make it political. The evidence is there that over the last 100 years the average global temperature has increased, with 10 of the hottest years being recorded very recently. I guess it has become political because one side seems particularly more interested in removing environmental protections in order to increase corporate profits than the other side does.. and both sides want to "win".
so they (repubs) have to do things like.. releasing the climate change report on Black Friday.. and IF the topic comes up, discredit it. saying ya I'm skeptical of it..fake news.. Chinese hoax.. etc.... otherwise you'd look like you're willfully playing russian roulette/gambling with our planet and might lose public support. On the other side of the coin, I'm sure Dems get lobbyist support of green/renewable energy companies.. so that could also be motivation.
