I am confused.
Counties don't generate GDP companies do. Companies don't vote. So I don't see the relationship.
If you're saying that the people who live in these counties voted for Hillary, that is true. But I don't see what the point is.

Counties do have a gross domestic product. Just like cities. Or nations. Take all the money that anyone living in a determined area, add it all up together, and you have a gross domestic product for that area.
2 ups, 6y
Yes and no. GDP is expressed based on geographical areas, nation, county, cities, etc.

But the area does not itself generate wealth, the companies within that area do. Move those companies to another area and the GDP growth would logically follow.

For instance, when Toyota moved its HQ from California to Tenn., the wealth generated by Toyota is now expressed as GDP in Tenn.

Tieing GDP in an area to how people vote in that area is not causality but rather a logical fallacy.

How much economy if you get rid of the entertainment and advertising?
2 ups, 6y,

Almost all of it. LA County does have the entertainment, but it's also a major port. And several high tech companies are there. (you'll see this as a trend, turns out liberals get tech degrees and create technology too). New York county has New York in it, so that's going to be Wall Street. Harris County (Houston), the 3rd largest county by GDP, is in Texas. That's generated by aerospace (General Electric), several computer companies like HP, and of course the Oil Industry. Cook County (Chicago) is #4 on the large economy counties. There are several healthcare companies and insurance agencies headquartered there. And a great deal of shipping still goes through Chicago. Orange County is #5, and the primary employment industry is high tech.

Impressive. Don't those counties also have the highest crime rates, homelessness, wealth inequality, illegal immigrants, taxes, gangs, corruption and gender fluids?

AKA: cities. Also, WTF does gender fluid have to do with anything?

It's nasty and those people need a good smack to the crotch to remind them that they already have a gender and need to have some self control over their sexuality. Animals hump whatever they want, humans have responsible partnership.

He's just trying to score free boomer points. Gender fluids aren't related to crimes

I was scoring boomer points. It's still nasty and a sign of weak mindedness. Liking whatever is willing to screw them isn't a sexuality.

"several high tech companies are there" Most tech companies work in entertainment. "New York county has New York in it, so that's going to be Wall Street" Wall Street is involved in all sorts of business. "several computer companies like HP, and of course the Oil Industry" Computer companies involve themselves in many things. So my point is that any company can invest into anything.

Yes. And their employees still voted for Cliinton. You can't parse an industry out just because you don't think it should count. They work there. They live there. They voted for Clinton.

It's also interesting that Tarrant County in TX (the 2nd largest red county just flipped to the Dems in the midterms, so that gdp dvide will continue to grow)
Not that you'll swayed by the information: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/the-avenue/2016/11/29/another-clinton-trump-divide-high-output-america-vs-low-output-america/

See? You went in with a pre-determined conclusion- the information is wrong. You can go and find it all for yourself. It doesn't take long to find out the gdp for each county. Wikipedia even has it for many. The counties in the US that produce more than 2/3rd's of the US economy voted for Hillary Clinton.

Time to abolish the electoral college, no, 20 residents of nowhere county in Ohio do not deserve nor should have the same influence as 2000 residents of a NYC or Houston or Los Angeles apartment building

Dumbest post ever.^
What you meant to say is, the Electoral college is functioning near perfectly, because there is no way a few small urban areas of the country should dictate things to the majority non urban areas. What works for a highly populous group of moral-less retards, does not work for the Average American.

Non urban areas are a 'minority' you know what that word means right? Moral-less? You mean like cheating on your wives with porn stars and lying about it?

You do understand the difference between the majority of the country and the majority of the mob population, don't you. States electors elect Presidents and people vote for who the electors cast for within each state.

You seem to be trying to make a connection between high economic productivity and voting for Clinton, a Democrat. That might be correlational, but it is hardly causal. One could easily say that people living in high density population centers drink the same Kool-Aid. In fact, I've not seen much attention given to the politics of low-density versus high density lifestyles.
