well, technically your right. Climate change isnt imminent because boomers will be dead by the time it affects us enough for people to care.

The apparent contradiction makes funny memes, but the idea behind global warming is not that we all die in a puddle of our own sweat. The increase in global temps, even a few degrees globally, results in more severe local weather. So hotter summers, colder, snowier winters, more destructive hurricanes and storms, etc.

This was all explained at the beginning of the movie The Day After Tomorrow. While we're not likely to see super blizzards, the idea is that rising sea levels alter the gulf stream, which brings warm water from the equator up around the northeast US and northwest Europe. If that flow changes, it could stop bringing as much warm water up and cause lower temps in those areas.
