To an extent. I think requiring people to join unions is bullshit, but that they are there for people to join willingly does not bother me. They served an important role in the past and while I think much of the need for unions is gone, the fact that they are there probably helps prevent needing them again in the future.

You do know that "they are taking our jerbs" is not one of the big arguments against illegal immigration these days? It is about security and vetting people who come into our country, not jobs.

No they don't, because just being here illegally is a crime. They have a crime rate of 100%. If someone breaks into your house but turns out to be a really nice guy are you gonna be okay with him staying? There's no duping going on. Those legals are allowed to be here - their crimes are a byproduct of our society(however horrendous). Illegals are NOT allowed to be here - their crimes are entirely avoidable. There are ALREADY laws on the book that would prevent those deaths, if they would just be enforced.

How about the 14th amendment?

The 14th amendment is fine, so long as we stop the flow of people coming here illegally. If the child of a legal resident or a naturalized citizen becomes a citizen automatically that is absolutely fine with me. My mother is an immigrant from the Philippines that is now a citizen. (though she was a citizen long before I was conceived). Someone crossing the border illegally to have a child however IS a problem.

The 14th amendment is clear as the 2nd is. Born here....citizen. Case closed.

Which is why I said I'm fine with it. We need to stop illegal immigration and the anchor babies will stop or at least slow to a less alarming pace. Not enforcing laws is the problem, not the constitution.

An american doesn't have a color, he has a citizenship. An illegal immigrant does not have that and isn't trying to get it, they are just trying to come here to get wealthy or to avoid problems in their own country. Our country is our responsibility. Our citizens are our responsibility. The same goes for them and theirs. If they are not citizens and are not trying to become citizens, they are NOT OUR BURDEN. We have enough people here who have a birthright to be here that aren't being taken care of without adding millions from other countries to the list.
