I know there were those who tried to put protections in place after the 2008 recession, but no one went to jail even though the banks caused it.

And you have to have $1-2,000 to put in a CD before you even get 2%. Smaller savings accounts pay less than 1%.

Yeah, that's why 69% of Americans have less than $1000 in savings accounts. We've been conditioned to not use them.

Fun fact, it used to be illegal to loan money at more than 10% interest, it was called "loan sharking" or legally "racketeering"

My cousin lives down in Maryland told me that a few years back they outlawed payday loans because they considered it "predatory lending." What the hell do you call high interest credit cards?

Cash back credit card companies hate me. I use them for almost everything. Have never paid any interest . . . They pay me :)

Um, hate to mention it, but they still get the 2.5% from the vendor you bought stuff from on every purchase. The worst thing you can do, is just stop buying stuff.

They might hate me. I'm not rich, but own home and my car have a little set aside for emergencies. I do not and will not have a credit card.
