On average, poorer people tend to support socialism: in a PewResearch study, it was found that 45% of US adults characterized as "lower income" had a "somewhat" or "very" good impression of "socialism", whereas only 33% of those characterized as having "middle income" or "upper income" had a "somewhat" or "very" good impression of "socialism". Conversely, 45% of US adults characterized as "lower income" had a "somewhat" or "very" good impression of capitalism, whereas 60% of those with "middle income" and 70% of those with "upper income" had a "somewhat" or "very" good impression of capitalism.
