Even if it means sacrificing everything Alan Turing 1912-1954 | . | image tagged in turing, apple, poison, beleive | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
In 1954 computer scientist and brilliant mathematician Alan Turing died after biting into an apple laced with cyanide a real life version of Snow White and the poison apple. Whatever happened the fact remains that a half eaten apple was found by Turing's bedside. (He ate the apple because of his his sexual orientation ie. he was a homo sexual and that was a crime in those days)

Excellent point. I am an MIT Computer Scientist who is very well versed in Alan Turing, who was a key person in winning world war 2.

The original Apple logo was of the great Isaac Newton sitting under a tree when an Apple is about to famously land in his head. And the Alan Turing logo thing is a myth. Google it if you don't believe me.

Where have I said anything about the Apple Logo, nowhere. The connection is Turing, computers, apples and the Tree of Knowledge as illustrated in the timeline of the meme................everybody thinks they know an Apple easter egg blah blah blah.

Wow. I didn’t know that. Thanks. Btw, I don’t believe it was an apple that Eve partook of in Eden, anyway... ; )

Turing died of cyanide poisoning, with an apple by his bedside, which was oddly and incompetently never tested but was somehow speculated to be laced with cyanide and consumed by him, supposedly inspired by a favourite scene from Snow White. He regularly ate an apple before bed and showed no intentions of suicide and made plans post death date. There's also no suggestion he was eating the apple because it was linked to being gay. I suspect being gay doesn't mean you have an increased biological desire to consume apples either. Also, Snow White was unknowingly GIVEN a poisoned apple, not created her own, which opens up a whole new line of conspiracy theories. However, another theory is accidental inhalation from cyanide fumes from apparatus in his room. Again, amazingly and incompetently not tested, so we'll never know.
Boring facts over, if you really want to find a very loose but potentially interesting co-incidental connection between Turing and Steve Jobs though, Turing died 24th June 1954. 37 weeks and 2 days later (around 9 months), Steve Jobs was born. Reincarnation, anyone?

'IT' is the only commodity everyone pays for before accepting the conditions of use, after which you are obliged to accept those terms or it won't work, that includes all hardware and software. Still feel smart?

They DID know the earth was round. And they never said it was the center of the universe. And who says they didn't know teeth-cleaning?
Pre-Flood civilization may have been more advanced than people realize.

round things dont have 4 corners

Revelation 20:8
and will come out to deceive the nations which are at the four corners of the earth, that is, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.

To understand the Bible, especially pieces like the Book of Revelation, you cannot take everything so literally and concretely. John and the other writers were ancient Eastern authors, not 21st century Westerners.
You can divide the hemispheres in 4 quadrants. Also, a 2-D map has four corners. It was a figurative way of saying "all over the world."

Revelation 20:8 says: which are in the four quarters of the earth.

Clearly not corners.

Well close, but not exactly. Forty years ago, I got my degree in Computer Science, and ended up at MIT doing research. I have used many IBM computers starting with the model 1130 in the early 1970's along with many other brands of computers (Honeywell, Control Data, Wang, Sun, and many, many others).

In the 80's the common jokes amongst the IBM crowd were similar to your meme. Do you mind if I share it on Facebook so the others can enjoy the laugh?
1 up, 6y
Share as you see fit. I think nerd jokes are pretty universal amongst nerds, wherever they work. And thanks for the kind words!
