How can you tell when people are ignorant gun nutters?

They threaten to kill them with their guns, only reinforcing why Americans are far too immature to access guns.

Yes, we all have our nutbags but I don't have any intention of hurting him. In fact, I would love to have a discussion with him to better understand his side of the argument and possibly give him a better understanding of mine. By the way, I'm not a "gun nut." I own guns and exercise my rights legally and regularly, but I'm not like that.

No need to verify how correct I am on that one, thank you.

The irony is that the same flatulence brained dimwits who say guns don't kill want to kill him with their guns to prove it.

you dont want to discuss... he has already put his position out there, and all the gun freaks keep distorting what he says because they are afraid of a kid

1. Actually, no. I would like to discuss the issue with him.

2. I do support common sense legislation but want existing laws to be obeyed first. Common sense legislation has different meaningless to different people and varies according to political leanings.

3. He is a kid so he cannot dictate policy

While I understand the reason why he feels the way he Does don't think he has a full grasp of the gravity of the situation, as with most children. I wonder about those who want him to make national policy.

If he is a kid who doesn't dictate policy, why do you want to talk to him?
Ultimately he's a symbol. He is the Obi Won of gun control. Strike him down and you only make his (point) stronger.

The reason that I would like to have a discussion with him is as much for my benefit as his. As a lifelong student I am always interested in hearing opinions that are different from my own, even if I disagree withthem. I know exactly why I feel the way I do about this issue, and I am pretty sure that I understand why Hogg feels the way that he does. I think it's high time for a civil discussion about the issue instead of resorting to insulation.

I have no intention of causing harm to the kid, only to share thoughts and ideas.

If you want existing gun laws enforced, we need to get local authorities to be better about forwarding records to the FBI. We also need to make the ATF database seachable.

Gun control does work. It is effective in Australia and it is supported to this very day here. The only people who carry on against it are those who behave in a way that you wouldn't want them to own a gun. And unlike what far too many Americans believe, we didn't disarm. Private gun ownership here is at its highest number in our history.

I doubt that these armed guards would be carrying anything more than a pistol. After all, they're guarding a civilian that isn't even relevant anymore.

Check out the video of when Ronald Reagan was almost assassinated. His secret service had uzis whipped out in seconds. But he was the president of the United States, not David Hogg.

David Hogg was pictured in New York City on June 20 with an entourage which included 'publicists and armed security guards', according to a witness.
Hogg did not respond to DailyMail.com's questions about his entourage on Saturday.
Efforts to contact him through the 'March For Our Lives' organization which he spearheads also went unanswered.

Oh, I am keeping up very well. I am fully aware Though says he isn't against the Second, but I know that his actions say otherwise...just like some of our lawmakers. They'll use that they don't want to take away all guns, but their actions speak volumes, just as certain interviews with prominent democrats speak volumes. I would ask them to prove it. Come up with ideas that preserve my rights while keeping guns out of the hands of the bad guys and I will gladly listen. I would also support a mental health facet to the background check process if they can prove to me that my information will be protected and my exam will be performed by my doctor I stead of some government lackey with an agenda. I wouldn't mind waiting to get a gun if I knew that was only for a background check.

Set my mind at ease about these things and I will gladly listen to your ideas, if you have any. Until then I will keep my ARs, my AKs, and my Dragunov, as well as the other assorted sporting arms that I acquired legally with a background check.

He's an activist. The only power he has is in what he says. Give me an example of his anti-second "actions" and explain why it will change anything.
reply

For one, he wants a total ban on what people are calling "assault weapons." My right to own these is protected by the Second and if they are banned my rights will have been violated. It is a catch-all phrase that gun-grabbers use to describe semi-automatic rifle, and they make no distinction between my Bulgarian AK-47s and my grandpa's semiautomatic .22 rifle that holds 17 rounds.

The fact of the matter is Hogg has two-armed guards. Just look--his guards both have two arms.

Is it pointing out irony if hogg wants guns to only be in the hands of professionals and be much harder to obtain for civilians so he is displaying an example of this by being unarmed and employing professionals though?
reply
2 ups
Except that there has been no such nuance in his comments... there's been no caveat about the 'hands of Professionals'

and even if so, unless the Guards are active Military or Police they are just as much a Civilian as He is. Some are more equal than Others I guess.

They will be next. As soon as someone decides that they don't like my LEGAL REGISTERED handguns and cries loudly enough, they will be targeted. That holds 13 rounds of .45ACP? You don't need that! Why do you need a pistol that can take down a bear? Ban it! Why do you need so many handguns? Ban them!
