It is amazing that other than ye old marketing department "right sizing" gallons, tons, 2x4s etc, that the US still hangs on to such an archaic set of weights and measures.
Part of the problem, I think, was that back in the 70's they tried to switch us over by giving us these weird conversion factor. No one wants to have to multiply by 5/9ths to figure out if it's cold outside.
Guess a two step process maybe the answer just get used to temperature being 5 times bigger then sometime in the future all you need to do is divide by 9. Just kidding. Yeah, the same issue in Canada and the UK. What it really takes is a government with a longer term view - something in short supply now a days.
