Talk about a nightmare! When people try pushing socialism I think of this kind of BS. NO ONE should be dictated by the government concerning their medical care. This whole story makes me sick.
Any of us would do anything to give our child at least a chance. Maybe it is medically hopeless, but if someone is offering to provide the chance, the parents and the child deserve and the government needs to get out of the way. The will not however, because the nightmare scenario is that the child gets better and everyone loses faith in their system.
In the end healthcare in any form should always be looking for something that can help, they could have made their system look good if they said they were working together with Italy to help the child instead of taking the road that they did (Just as a parent I'm blinded by anger maybe)
The problem for them in taking that high road is, then they have to take that same high road for every terminally ill person. If they let the parents go on their own and the child survives, and maybe even improves all faith in the system is shattered.
Somehow I missed that reply, and yeah, that whole thing is completely disgusting, I wasn't denying that. I was just saying even the royalty isn't immune to "state" interference. Probably didn't do it in the best way, looking back.
