This is true. Back in the day when I first started I wanted to get signed and hit the road. For one, I was young and dumb and really had no idea how much work it really is to be a working artist. Seriously, it's crazy sometimes. Then when the opportunity came the label said they would release my music globally, but wanted me to pay my own production costs. Huh? So I got to thinking, if the future is digital distribution why do I care about having CDs in every Walmart and gas station in the world? The more I explained it out to myself the less important it became to spend money to be represented by someone else. So I'm still happily indie.
