Another inane comment, Chicago has gun control and look! Yeah, like Chicago is completely walled off from the other states and there is no way for people to transport guns....

I guess you better get your guns loaded with more thoughts and prayers as you'll gonna need them

Inane? Common sense predicts - and studies verify it in practice every time - that if perps know an area is more likely to have armed victims, they go elsewhere.

Australia's a f**king ocean-locked continent, and wait - oh, their crime rates are right back up to where they were before.

Screw your "thoughts and prayers" back, because (1) my gun is more reliable, and (2) the world is not divided into two neatly stereotyped "sides", because intelligent people like me defy them, shoot down the arguments of morons, and think for ourselves outside the boxes of dogma.

This would be unlike you where you currently are.

So, with the country not being walled off, it will be the same as Chicago if Chicago law goes nation wide. That is the problem with land borders, and having the neighbor of Mexico, the cartels would also be running the US after not too long. But this is not your country, so, why would you care. That's right, you wouldn't.

NYC, NY, safest big city in USA | . | image tagged in nyc ny safest big city in usa | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
No.

There are still guns and gun crime in NYC. And if you look at national crime statistics side by side with NYC crime statistics, the decline is strikingly similar.

Safest big city in the USA still.

Excellent point you bring up - while NYC is ahead, the trend is USA wide, innit? And no extra shots required.

No worries for 2nd Amendmentists, the lefto bots ain't bringing it up. Their script is the same as the righto bots', only calling for arguing Chicago as if it's the ONLY place in America because what better way to keep the diversion troll debate going?

That's actually a template of mine. I like to post it to poke the 'both' fake sides of the issue. Guess how many of these fakers pay mind?

I agree that NYC has come a long way, for the most part the city and police adopting the broken windows theory, link below for a short video. And while relying on police to investigate crimes for prosecution, there is nothing wrong with people protecting themselves, because unfortunately the police cannot be everywhere at once. And in the second link you will find statistics that were researched in conjunction with the CDC that there are more than double the incidents of firearms being used for defense (during a criminal episode- 60,0000 to 120,000/year) than the number of firearms deaths (including the 60% suicides- 30,000). The document is rather large so if you start at page 45, that is where it gets to the details needed.

Ahh, lemme guess, Giuiliani donned his supersuit, had the Bowery bums arrested for squeegee cleaning car windows of tourists at stoplights on the way to Chinatown, and BABOOM! all safe, just like a miracle!

His tenure lasted from '94 - '01, coincidentally coinciding with the end of the crack scourge.
You were correct the first time, the decline in crime rates was experienced also by the rest of the US, and he was Mayor of NYC, not Pres of the USA.
Plus nearing 2 decades of him out, and the crime decline has gone almost ridiculously low, with 3 terms of a liberal Rep Mayor Bloomberg, and 2 with ultra lib Mayor Dem De Blasio.

Skip the links, I was born here in the big bad Bronx when it was the most dangerous place on Earth, and synonomous with urban decay, saw that crown taken away by Beirut, then Detroit & Chicago.
Lived in mafiosoville Pelham Gardens, then spent 21 years at Arthur Ave, changed into a slum and a half since A Bronx Tale days. Back to my old home now. No gun in my pocket nor anyone else I know (the only rifles I ever saw in the flesh were my Uncle's (R.I.P.) in Puerto Rico that he used for hunting), and I still survived what USED to be the roughest, tougest, most dangerous town on earth.

Gun control worked here, can it work for the rest of these twerps?

I don't care about the people you were quoting, I was brining up a change in tactics. And like you said, skip the links, then look up the "Broken Windows Theory" on your own, there are plenty of other places to read/watch/learn about it other than the one I posted. And it is good for you that you grew up in such a rough era and survived to tell the tale. But that does not make you the spokesman for the other 300 million people in the US all of whom have (and can choose to exercise) their 2nd Amendment Right, just like the 1st we are both exercising now. Welcome to the world of differing opinions, and I though we were getting into actually being able to have civil discussion, but I guess we are just back to name calling. Parting note: I do not agree with your opinion, but I would fight to the death to defend your right to say it, with or without my (and your) 2nd Amendment Right.

*sighs* Bx, NY, NY, USA, STILL. I told you the name of the one who implemented the Broken Windows approach: Rudi Giuliani. The "squeegee" cleaning bit I mentioned, which he made a big noise about like it was going to save us all.
He's been out of office almost TWO decades STILL.

I AGREED with you. Crime trends went down THROUGHOUT the US despite not sharing any such policy.

I could go on with why we're ahead in lowering crime rates with everything from assigning social workers to street gangs in the 60s to pro-active community policing, but you'd just ignore that too.

That you did catch "these twerps" (plural) and took that personally means YOU took it personally. As I posted with a copy of your meme, you used the word "stupid" on this very thread, so we're both not above referring to the idiocy of idiots.

AAARGH! Almost forgot! The stemming of guns used in gun violence in NYC also stemmed the gun violence said guns were used in. Coincidence?
And yet in what was once the most dangerous place on Earth, folks didn't just switch weapons or truck guns in anyways a la Chicago.

Gun buyback programs helped also.

Who did I quote? YOU'RE the only one quotting anyone, via link anyways.
Name calling? I called you a name?
1 up, 7y
Minus "quote" and add "referred". Like I said it doesn't matter the person, what matters is the change in tactics. Broken windows, look it up. Pursuing and punishing even the most trivial of criminal offenses, not decriminalizing them. And yes, I add links to the actual information I refer to instead of spouting off at the keyboard and giving no point of reference. And name calling, the term "twerps" ring a bell? That is name calling, even if a generalization and has no place in a civilized discussion unless you want to show someone you have no interest is discussion and are being driven on pure emotion. That is why I took my time replying and the other one was so short, because you proved you are not worth the effort to continue a discussion with.

If a person has not only to rely on the quote of others but require that they be looked up, I have no need to follow through.
Again, Bx, NY, NY, USA, born and raised. Don't need someone else to verify what I lived through. My world is international, 1/3 foreign born, 1/3 born here of foreign born, 1/3 more than 2 generations. Differing opinions, mindsets, cultures are the norm here. If someone can't deal with that here, they get to not to, permanently.

I do humbly thank you for permitting me to express myself as allowed by the First Amendement.
But no thank you, as the sole Rican in an Italian neighborhood in the Bronx in the 1970s, if I made it this far intact. I don't need guns, not even yours. I fight my own battles, me myself, my hands, no weapons, no backup.
2 ups, 7y
Good for you. I'll keep my guns, as allowed by Our 2nd Amendment.

Good for you dear sir, Just beacuse you lived in the Bronx dosen't mean you are an expert in gun control and or preventation of deaths, Just because someone who flies a fighter jet dosen't mean they can build one, Gun control is silly and will never work, did banning drugs work?

AHA! He is trolling you too! This same one has been hounding me on another thread. He actually has an alt account (or two) and was using them both to troll me in one thread. I bet you anything he is also the one behind ribeyeluvr.I suggest downvoting him and ignoring. He will move on to someone else later when he tires of begging for your attention.

Yeah, I'm from the Bronx, NYC, NY, USA, Canada.

Just because I'm the 2nd (or is there 3 now?) that shut you up in one day doesn't mean we're all the same. Just means you have nothing to say, you silly carboard cut out cuck.
