I could probably believe her southern accent from the 80's when dating/marrying Bill Clinton from Arkansas, but after that, especially when in New York, it's suspicious she wants to appeal and placate herself to people to passively vote for her.

That was the idea. It's the same reason she did the "hot sauce" thing, to make them believe that she identifies with them so they will blindly vote for her.

She probably thinks Taco Bell is Mexican food and real tacos have lettuce and tomatoes.
