100% True my friend. These people making a big deal about saying "Happy Holidays" are total f**king morons! And the sad thing is that a lot of these people are from the Millennial, and Generation Z gens. Don't get me wrong SJWS are very annoying, but these kids becoming conservative, just because of modern feminists, could lead to bad things. Like Religion rising in this country again, which could be very bad, for progress.

People say "Happy Holidays" because there are more holidays this time of year than just Christmas. All the bronze age astrocults have a winter solstice holiday which is the point of saying "Happy Holidays."

Really? Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan just to name a few. Hanukkah I might add has been celebrated since before "Christ" was "born."

How many people do you estimate believe in Judaism and Islam? I'll give you kwanza, but many people celebrate both Christmas and kwanza.
reply

There are over a billion muslims on earth making them the 2nd largest religion on earth and also the fastest growing. There are only about 15 million Jews worldwide but as I said, they have been celebrating Hanukkah a lot longer than anyone has been celebrating Christmas. So to answer your question over 1.01 Billion

And if you're "giving me" Kwanza over Judaism and Islam you shouldn't because it's a distant 4th behind the other religions I mentioned.

As many as 8 million Jews in the US. The US has more Jewish citizens than Israel. As far as Muslims we have around 3.3 million. Put them together and you have as many as 11.5 million people just in those two religions. Not an insignificant number.

Because of this argument, I googled it (curiosity, I don't really care). Estimates vary between 14.3 million to just over 15 million. So nowhere near a billion.

Stop being silly. You know that number is complete bull. I mean, for Jews.

It does come close to the number of Hindus (1.15 billion), which I suspect you got the number from some years ago.

Approximately 2 billion people are Muslim... It's only slightly smaller than Christianity.

You have got to be kidding, right? There are all the variations of winter solstice celebrations. (Most of what you consider Christmas traditions were hijacked from pagan solstice celebrations that pre-date Christianity). New Years is a secular celebration which celebrates a mere calendar flip.
If you are not kidding, that is blatant willful ignorance on your part.

There were actually several pagan holidays that the Catholic Church tried to accommodate when it created Christmas, in order to convert them. Although "pagan" they were "religious" in nature. You assume much, and know little. You're welcome

Too religious? Which religion? There are NO Christian holidays. Not a one. They have all been stolen or usurped from Pagan beliefs. Happy Saturnalia everyone ! Even Biblical scholars say that "Christ" was not born in December but most likely in September. Claiming the 25th of December was to usurp the Pagan holidays and to try to get them to quit worshipping Pagan Gods by supplanting their Gods with the new one.
reply
5 ups, 2 replies
It's a celebration of his birth not his actual birthday.
I agree the rest of it Santa, reindeer, are pagan.
reply
5 ups
So why not celebrate it on his birthday? If you were born on Sept 15th or so why would you celebrate your birthday on the Dec 25th? I was born in late July...I 'm thinking I'll start celebrating my Birthday on Dec 25th so I can be a God too.
reply
4 ups, 1 reply
Yahweh admonished against the celebraton of birthdays, hence why none are found in the Torah and the Bible.

Zoroastrianism goes back at least 3500 years. Various sects, includung the Cult of Mithras, were adopted and became popular in Rome by 2000 years ago. God of the Sun, the Eternal Flame, 12 Attendents, carries a lamb, born of a virgin on, yup, December 25th.
Oh, and Zoroastrian Preists are called Magi. THE Magi. They wear 3 tiered crowns and the rest of the garb the Pope does, and pray with clasped hands, etc, etc. Cept they done it since before Abraham was born.

Congrats, your disdain for The Chosen won't matter if you rankle the ire of their God, because all this time, you've been worshipping an Aryani one, Mithra. Or as we say today, Irani. Your God is Iranian.

PS: As you can see, he's not the only one.
reply
3 ups, 1 reply
Well like I said I realize it's not his birthday, but a celebration of it. Noone knows exactly when he was born. I've read it most most likely in the summer sometime.
I worship the God of the bible.
All these similarities there is no way they could be the same person!
reply
3 ups, 1 reply
The GodS of the Bible, Yahweh for the Jews, Elohim for the Israelites, are THEIR Gods.
Yesterday you criticized them. To dislike a people and claim to worship THEIR tribal Gods is um, what's that word?

Then again, as was said in the Revelations, Son of the Jackyl seated in Rome shall steal the religion of the Chosen and call it their own, yet not before corrupting it beyond recognition.

Incidentally, if it wasn't for Zoroastrianism, there would be no one God. Ancient Iranians, in effect, created the Hebrew Gods, albiet indirectly. Ask any Christian scholar, this is no big secret. So whether 2000 years ago or 3500, God is still the offspring of Aran.
The concept and word Paradise is from the Persian "Paradaesa".
The concept of the Apocalypse is Persian.
The concept of afterlife is Persian.
The concept of one good God is Perisian.
The concept of Jesus risen is Persian.

That's why the concept of the final battle between good and evil was popular during Y'eshua bar Josephus's (Joshua, AKA Jesus) day and not prior. That's why the Hebrews believed in no afterlife, which was not mentioned till the Book of Job, the last book in the Torah.

FREE BONUS: The first Messiah - and the only gentile one - was Kurus, otherwise known as Cyrus the Great, of Aran. He even gave the Judeans funding to rebuild the Temple in Jeruselem after freeing them from Babylon.

Ironic, given how things are nowadays.

So, in your worldview an individual can be self authenticating and self identifying but a philosophy that actually has a written record of it's beliefs can not be self authenticating?

Do those things refer to people before they become Christians or after? If someone becomes a Christian then gets drunk or lies, do they lose their salvation? I'm guessing you would probably say no. How much sin must one commit before they lose their salvation? And along those same lines, does supporting "sin" cause one to lose their salvation? If a Christian supports same sex marriage, do they lose their salvation and cease to be a Christian?
reply
1 up
Like I've said before, those verses apply to anyone who lives a continuous, habitual sinful lifestyle.
They will not inherit the kingdom of God. Since salvation can not be lost, such a person was never saved.
If I sin (lie, get drunk, etc.) that doesn't make me "not a Christian," it puts me out of fellowship with God and that fellowship needs to be restored through confessing and repenting of my sins.

God also promises to discipline his children. So a Christian can "backslide" into one of those lifestyles but God will not allow his child to stay in such a lifestyle for long. His discipline will either end in our repentance and restored fellowship with God where the Christian will not be living that way any longer OR it will end in the death of the unrepentant "backslider."
1 John 5:16 literally translated says, "...there is a sinning unto death..."

I have witnessed this many times in the lives of people who professed to be Christians but they went back to their "vomit" and "pig sty" (2 Peter 3:20-22) and ended up dead at a young age. Others who claim to be believers but remain in those lifestyles, I don't treat them as Christians. Rather I treat them as lost people who need to hear the gospel.

God will allow Christians to live in many levels of ignorance of his word. Being ignorant of or rejecting what he desires by approving of the sins of others doesn't necessarily make one culpable of their "sinning unto death," at least I don't think it does.
I don't have all the answers, but I know that salvation cannot be "lost." The person living in unrepentant sin either never was a Christian or they are a Christian under God's discipline and in danger of death or they will get back on the "strait and narrow way."

"merry christmas" refers to one religion specifically, "happy holidays" is more general. but in most cases, people just want to be inclusive because there are so many holidays, from so many different religions around that time, and it rarely matters to them how you reply (and it shouldn't btw)
