I imagine most antifa are upper-middle class white kids having a party until the trust fund kicks in. But I think this obsession some on the right have with Leftism, Socialism, and it's many variations is misplaced. Just as it's extremely unlikely that neo-nazis will ever grab the levers of power in this country, it's next-to-impossible for the left to maintain supreme control. It's up to us boring types in the middle to slog along, voting, and trying to keep things functioning just enough to survive. That said, just as there are authoritarians on the 'progressive' left, there ARE many on the right who are obtaining some power in smaller or less-powerful countries by advancing 'illiberal' values and programs; i.e., Hungary (whose current prime minister advanced the term 'illiberal'), Poland, Turkey, and yes, Russia. Everywhere where a large portion of the population is uncomfortable with change there's usually a harkening back to 'traditional values' by a minority who seek to repress democracy. That's where my concern is; we may laugh at the white supremacists marching around now, but their slightly-less heinous cousins in more orthodox countries have shown the way to power.
