The thing is, as a Christian, i HATE the number 18 because it represents "triple sixes". 3X6=18 .. for most of this month I was stuck at the 18th spot on the all-time list, so I have been working feverishly to get to number 17. LOL
That's where I am now. And I like it here :-)
So I am in no rush to go any higher. Hence I don't have to submit anymore memes for a while
The Bible says that we are all sinners (Rom. 3:23). This means that we have all offended God. We have all broken His law. Therefore, we are guilty of having sinned. Because of this, we are separated from God (Isaiah 59:2), are dead in our sins (Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:3), cannot please God (Rom. 3:10-11), and will suffer damnation (2 Thess. 1:9). The only way to escape this judgment is by receiving Christ--by trusting in what Jesus did on the cross (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Pet. 2:24). I don't feel that Lakewood church preaches this really. I've listened to Osteen, and he preaches, "do good things, think positive, and good things will happen". What's your opinion of proper gospel?
My opinion is that Gospel means "Good News", and you know the Good news is that while we were yet sinners, Christ gave Himself for us so that by believing in Him we might have everlasting life. I'm not so sure that the short time we see Pastor Osteen's sermon we're actually seeing everything he's preaching. Meaning we may only be seeing the smiling goody-goody part that comes AFTER his weekly teaching.
Preaching is actually a PROFESSION, and each Sunday service is supposed to include some sort of lesson that a preacher/pastor has studied, although I heard that Pastor Osteen didn't attend any Theology classes. However, he probably didn't have to because his dad was a preacher FOR MANY YEARS

Gospel does mean good news for sure, I agree. I don't agree with calling someone "pastor" when it's undeserved. Pastor means "teacher" and I've listened to Osteen's 10 -12 minute radio sermons, and he teaches nothing. He speaks health and wealth seeker friendly phrases. He is a motivational speaker. I understand he has a huge following, and has no doubt changed people's lives, but he is doing so in a way that I disagree with.
Just remember, the Lord causes whom He will to be rich. Think of Job!

Job lost his whole family. His children were killed. If Job had the choice I'm sure he would want to keep his life the way it was. Osteen's followers want their lives to change for the better, but few are prepared for the possibility of hardship along the way.
We have ALL offended God? So..you're saying God is a whiny little snowflake? Tell him to put on his safety pin and go to his safe space.

Don't harass me. I was commenting to Beckett. I've seen enough of your comments to know your thoughts on Christianity. I have no interest in getting into a debate with you.

My apologies, I thought you may be fishing for an argument or trying to trap me into defending my faith. I shouldn't have said anything. Peace.
You don't just allow hundreds of people into a huge establishment such as that Church without having volunteers and security personnel there to handle it all
CRITICIZES PASTOR JOEL OSTEEN FOR NOT OPENING HIS CHURCH RIGHT AWAY; HASN'T OFFERED ANY MONEY OR ASSISTANCE OF HER OWN, NOR HAS ANY INTENTIONS OF DOING SO
