Edit: AND left wing liberals. They're too rushed towards getting new ideas accepted that they don't have a supporting argument other than the express purpose of getting it done. There should be a balance between them. And no, I'm not talking about food, LOL.

With conservatism and liberalism balanced TOGETHER(not apart), I personally think society would be happier.

You're most likely right. I have noticed that there are attacks during and after such events, however they are directed against the participants, or those perceived as participants. "Brian" was not beaten, just verbally hated on for being perceived as homophobic. I mean no offense to you, but I have received verbal abuse from other girls who accused me of being a hating homophobe. I believe it stemmed from my saying that it was wrong to call my boyfriend the same after they had remarked on his answer of not wanting to marry a trans-girl. I still stand for equality and equal rights for all people and will continue to do so.
reply
7 ups, 1 reply
I see :) saying he wouldn't want to marry a trans-girl isn't hateful, in my opinion; that's just his personal taste. I would consider it transphobic if someone said that transgender people shouldn't be allowed to marry anyone at all.

The premise is that if two people love each other and they are both consenting adults, no one should care what they do. First cousin marriage is currently legal in about half of the U.S., with almost all allowing unrestricted sexual relation/living together. Since gay marriage is legal in all states, why is it not legal in all states for first cousins, using the same premise used to promote gay marriage?
reply

Isn't the concern over cousins marrying and procreating that the chances are greater for them to have children born with birth defects?

Glad to hear from you. The reason I brought up first cousin marriage is that we have it legal in some states, and not in others. Why should we not have it consistent, i.e. legal or illegal in all states. And if we make it illegal, what about second cousins?
reply
5 ups, 2 replies
That's the beauty of state's rights as opposed to central government. Marriage in general is a state's right and should not be regulated by the federal government.
7 ups
I respectfully disagree :3 it should be a federal issue, since it affects everyone in the country on the deepest, most fundamental level possible. In my opinion, it's up there with freedom of religion and freedom to own private property.
4 ups
It is a HUMAN RIGHT. It predates government.

It requires NO. government interference whatsoever. The history of Marriage is MUCH older than the history of marriage licenses. They also make the STATE a partner in your marriage - and give them a property interest in the union's offspring...

Thanks. I do agree with Octavia though. But there is a trend that some persons are subscribed to where they believe anyone not willing to be romantically involved with a transgender is discriminating, often met with very vocal harassment. I consider this behavior to be as wrong as when homosexuals were harassed for being homosexual. Note that I do not consider or believe everyone to act in this manner.

People are entitled to have their phobias. In their personal life and choices, but not in the workplace or school - to the extent that they affect the rights of others. Hate too.

And people can hate or fear - each other - based on their appraisal of one another. If a chick witb a dick scares you - own it. If you find it distasteful...don't pick up hitchhikers on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

Eight Traits of the Disinformationalist
by H. Michael Sweeney <

copyright (c) 1997, 2000 All rights reserved

(Revised April 2000 - formerly SEVEN Traits)

1) Avoidance. They never actually discuss issues head-on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other. Virtually everything about their presentation implies their authority and expert knowledge in the matter without any further justification for credibility.

2) Selectivity. They tend to pick and choose opponents carefully, either applying the hit-and-run approach against mere commentators supportive of opponents, or focusing heavier attacks on key opponents who are known to directly address issues. Should a commentatorbecome argumentative with any success, the focus will shift to include the commentator as well.

One does not simply label someone as stupid, just because they write you an essay.

Seriously, what's with the "think long think wrong" attitude? Why is that mentality even a thing?? A belief idsn't correct simply because it rhymes. People who can't handle reading through a whole post have a lower IQ, not meaning to insult you. Either that's the case, or you're just offended because what the user above in yellow posted cold hard facts...? In that case, I say the following meme:

AnotherWorldView You're right. I never should have tried to get into all that business. It's none of my business because I'm not paid to mediate websites. It wasn't entirely my fault, though. But I could have redirected him.

I didn't, and that's something I learned from. From now on, I should keep my nose out of people's business and say "Go see a counselor, because it's not my problem."

The purpose of courts is to resolve contoversies. What controversy is being debated?

You want to tell me that Modda and Justin are different a-holes...I suppose that's possible. But I noticed the sequence of folks responses, and timing - because I was online a lot @ the time.

It seemed to me that those 2 were one because of a series of Flame wars, erupting across multiple pages.

Will I call a fool a fool...? Sure - if he comes @ me disrespectfully. Is that my normal posture...? No.

Anyway... I don't see much benefit in refighting old battles.

Perhaps you can clarify.

"The more a particular party fits the traits and is guilty of following the rules, the more likely they are a professional disinfo artist with a vested motive."

"A rational person participating as one interested in the truth will evaluate that chain of evidence and conclude either that the links are solid and conclusive, that one or more links are weak and need further development before conclusion can be arrived at, or that one or more links can be broken, usually invalidating (but not necessarily so, if parallel links already exist or can be found, or if a particular link was merely supportive, but not in itself key to) the argument. The game is played by raising issues which either strengthen or weaken (preferably to the point of breaking) these links. It is the job of a disinfo artist to interfere with these evaluations... to at least make people think the links are weak or broken when, in truth, they are not... or to propose alternative solutions leading away from the truth. Often, by simply impeding and slowing down the process through disinformation tactics, a level of victory is assured because apathy increases with time and rhetoric. "

No offense, this doesn't quite make sense. If a white person is at a BLM rally, obviously they support the movement, so they're not going to get beaten up...a man participating in a feminist protest is agreeing with all the women there, so he's probably not going to get "male bashed"... and straight people at gay pride parades OBVIOUSLY support the LGBTQ+ community or else they wouldn't be there, so nobody's going to think they're homophobic. I'm pretty sure no one is going to get criticized just for their skin color, sex, or orientation in a setting that's fighting for equal rights. You've clearly never been to a protest or gay pride parade. I've been to a pride parade and 2 Trump protests, and all of them were filled with people of different races, sexes, gender identities, and sexual orientations...and nobody there was criticized for the way they were and there was no violence anywhere. Sorry to rant, but it's important to know that most people who fight for equal rights AREN'T hypocrites.

Hi and thanks for responding. I wanted to let you know that I have in fact been to LGBT gatherings, most recently after the Orlando shooting last year. While I did not encounter any problems here, I did have a verbal exchange at a diversity meeting more recently where we had to leave to avoid the continued harassment. Not everyone at these activities are supporting the protestors, as I do know of attacks made on said protestors, those were mainly attacks on persons that are, or perceived to have been, involved in a LGBT rally.

Bad Luck Brian memes are not supposed to make sense; he can do the wave at a sporting event and drown, or fall in love and break his hip in the fall. It's just the way the meme works, I never meant that the protestors have beaten people up in real life. However "Brian" was not beaten at an LGBT event, but was called homophobic based purely on perception, and not on truth. I am merely stating that it is my belief that some are acting in ways that are unfairly treating others who may or may not believe differently.

I never meant any offense to you, I am merely exposing the fact that some people calling for equality (but as you said most are not this way) are hypocrites. I hope that someday we can shake hands and exchange friendly smiles. I always stand for freedom and equality, but some (not all) find that the equality that I'm speaking for is not the idea they are looking for. I sincerely hope you have a nice day.

Most of the time when I state facts/opinions like the one I did, people kind of explode and then go on to criticize me and certain groups of people...not that it hurts my feelings or anything, it's just kind of ridiculous. Thanks for not doing that. XD And I agree with you, there are some people who call for equality who are aggressive and hypocritical, I just was kind of under the impression that you thought a LOT of people who are part of equal rights movements were like that. Thanks for clarifying; I always stand for freedom and equality too. :)

So true, it's like most people just want to have a "gang" to back them up so they can beat on other people. If you're not the same sex or the same whatever (anything) they automatically hate you, like how chimps hate other chimps who aren't part of their troupe. I wonder if anyone even knows or cares what their own party is supposed to stand for anymore.

[Chorus]
[Verse Two]

I'm connected like dub and Mac-10 with ice cubes in my watch
And dubs on the black Benz (But you don't hear me d'oh)
I'm getting' paid 'cause I do all the work
It's rainy days if we don't move all our work, we go bizirk (But you don't hear me d'oh)
I'm on the block fam, in the cream drop Lam
Mostly our cats with deals, y'all ain't hot man (But you don't hear me d'oh)
I'm 'bout to do it again, you 'bout to lose it again
It's show and tell motherf**ker, I'm the one grinnin'

[Chorus]
The game over, 'cause shit about to change over
It's 'bout time 'cause hip-hop need a make over (But you don't hear me d'oh)
