Saying bacon to a vegan is a double trigger.

Working in a resturant, do you know how many vegans are SHOCKED to learn that many breads contain milk and/or eggs. They remember to ask for no mayo "because I'm vegan" and then get indignant when I say I need to check the ingredient list on the bread to make sure there's no milkor eggs. Same for pasta.

I work at a restaurant. When a guest has special dietary needs we refer them to our chef. Today i had a guest say "I'm a vegan, who do I talk to about that?" I had yo bit my tongue to keep from saying "a psychiatrist" and instead referer him to the chef as I'm supposed to.

Being a vegan is fine. I'm a vegan. As long as the food feeds us, it doesn't have to taste good. I don't think animals should be thrown into a meat grinder for our pleasure.

Meat grinder? Youre talking about vegetarian, not vegan. Vegan is an extreme that is difficult to accommodate. Vegans can't have milk or honey. Many do no realize that if you truely follow vegan rules, there are some vaccines you cannot take. If you get bitten by a snake, good luck. Horsesare used in the production of anti-venom.

Poor, poor man. Bacon, steak, fried chicken. That's all I need to say.

I wonder how many vegans would stop watching older films that were recorded on film stock made from cartilage, skin and bones of animals. Also, do they not eat jams and jellies made from gelatin - the less pure form than that used for film?

By the way, vegetarian food (and even vegan) can be quite delicious. I eat vegetarian meals quite regularly. I just don't actively avoid meat.

Depending on which products you're consuming, veganism may not be the environmental winner you think it is. Paticularly if you eat a lot of soy products.

I mean I'm a vegan. Nothing wrong with that. I just feel animals shouldn't be killed for our pleasure. As long it feeds us, it doesn't have to taste good. (Yes, this includes bacon.)
