Your comment about mavericks the other day got me thinking about a time in the 90's when I went boogie boarding on the left coast somewhere between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay. Made it about 100 yards out, saw a shark fin out of the corner of my eye. It was the smoothest, quietest, quickest ride back to shore I could manage. I guess you could have called me Chicken of the Sea that day:)

So I assume that you were in no REAL danger...

Being a hiker and a beekeeper I'm more likely to be struck by lightning or stung to death. That fin tho... Triggered something deep and primal. Maybe I should go back cultivate that and conquer my fear. A friend of mine sharpied a bar code pattern across the bottom of his board to ward them off. 100 percent effective so far.

Thanks, not sure. I stole this image from Tumblr. Not many hits come up in a Google image search. I'm guessing a black sand beach somewhere in the Pacific.

My guess is that the night sky is computered in.

Your guess sounds right, not too many stars you can see when the sun is out. I used to have one of these Kodak cameras a long time ago, but never found the right film or had film custom cut for it. A double exposure on film would work for that shot too, 5-10 minute exposure of the starry sky before sunrise, then a short exposure of the sunrise. Thank you dobbys_boggart:)

It really is a Beautiful photograph! As the Heavens open up above the setting sun on the water! This is like a throwback to some early, early submissions on imgflip (if you go far enough back in Latest through the urls you'll see some posts that were just beautiful photos).

Thanks Spudly, we had a great trip. We used to go every year in October, now have to go when the kids are out of school and we figured spring break would be good time. We were on the beach every day, perfect weather, no crowds. I could get used to that:)

Comment timer test

No timer for me here. I've seen Olympian and Spudly say they still have a comment timer on their memes. I'm about to do some more testing on some of my other stuff (submitted/unsubmitted upvoted/not upvoted etc). Ill post my findings on Dashes Bill Murray thank you meme.

I have some submitted memes that have never featured, maybe about 10 of them. I think that happens to most long term users eventually.

I'm not sure what you mean by "mine don't" I've seen some of your memes on the front page. I think there are some things on imgflip you can control, some you can't. Some of getting to the front page is the meme, some is luck and timing.

I'm a little surprised that this one made the front page. I don't have a lot of memes or gifs that do. I think it happens for about 1 out of 50 submissions for me. I'm fine with that, I have fun making them all.
