Well, if the mother's going to die, who's more important? The mother or a bundle of cells who can't think?

That isn't a good argument since a mother's life or the baby's life only make up roughly 1-3% of all reasons for abortion.

Okay, what about stillborns, or rape victims? Especially younger victims, having a child young will mess up your whole life, no exceptions.

1) Stillborns are not the same as abortions.

2) R@pe was included in the 1-3%. R@pe, health of the mother and child.

3) Quit having sex if you're too young tohave sex and can't care for a baby. Simple.

Rape is a grave crime and a tragedy, but it's not the fault of the innocent human person that has been conceived in the womb. So a mother impregnated by a rapist has the duty to not abort. Sometimes making the right choice is really hard, but it's not an excuse to make the wrong choice. To be the victim of a crime does not give the right to commit an other crime. Furthermore she can give up the baby for adoption.

The mother should have a choice in the case of r@pe...
it is a brutal, dehumanizing, awful experience that usually leaves the victim with severe ptsd, suicide and other mental issues... as well as physical issues.

Abortion also changes women.. I have seen friends who have had abortions change... guilt, depression
It is a really hard thing.
Both are hard things mentally... will leave a woman anguished... it is up to the mom though to decide if she wants to go through 9 months of a constant reminder of a horrifically violent act... only to give the baby up for adoption and have further guilty feeling and always wondering about the baby's or have an abortion and always wonder about the baby that never had a chance...
Hard call... REALLY hard call...

It is a tough call.
I look at it like two wrongs don't make a right.
The baby is 100% innocent in the matter and doesn't deserve to be purged.

You are right.. the baby is 100% innocent.
It is so tragic... anytime a pregnancy ends.. through abortion or miscarriage.
I have had several miscarriages... and so life is so precious... I wanted each of those babies so badly and mourned not being able to hold them in my arms.
I came to the realization one day that those babies do eventually are able to be born... just their birth is delayed
This is just my opinion and the way I consoled my grieving heart...
I can't help, as a mom, to think how tragic it is for all those babies that were aborted to be all excited about their tiny body growing inside of mommy, then suddenly being ripped from that tranquil home and end up back on the waiting list.

I see the other side of the coin that no one rally has mentioned...
Infertile families that long to have a baby, hold a child in their arms...
They try IVF in vain... they are one adoption list go through sheer hell and thousands upon thousands of dollars to have a little one bless their lives.
Each abortion is a stab at their heart!
How gladly they they pay the mom to keep the pregnancy and deliver the baby for them... from her arms to theirs.
Tens of thousands of parents pray for this blessing each year... many more just hope a miracle would happen

That the orphanages would be full and prolifers only care until the baby comes out. Basically saying we only care when it's still in the womb acquit caring when it's born.

There is a shortage of babies here in the usa.

Your "god" ripped the child from you because it's part of your life path..."god's plan." There are 5 Billion too many people on the planet. Your "god" was telling you, each forced-abortion (you call them miscarriages) that you weren't supposed to breed.
A fetus has no thought or memory until, literally, the moment of conception. it's simple science. No fetus ever realized it was being aborted you f**king ignorant c**t.

Yes, it's her choice. And that's why, if it's the wrong choice, she can sometimes be considered guilty. I say "sometimes" because you can sometimes commit a wrongful act without being morally guilty, if there are enough extenuating circumstances. But even in this case, the act itself remains wrongful.
And the fact that a person suffers doesn't give that person the right to commit a wrongful act, even if it's in order to stop the suffering. So although the woman impregnated by a rapist may suffer a lot because of that pregnancy, it doesn't give her the right to murder the little human she's carrying. The fact that this would be legal doesn't mean it would be moral.

P. S. : When I say "it's her choice" I don't mean that she should not be legally prosecuted for the wrong choice. The state has the duty to protect all innocent human lives, including those in the womb.

In cases of rape incest and if the pregnancy will kill the mother, I feel that the hard choice IS up to the mom.
I have 2 friends , both had cancer who chose to keep the baby and go through chemo after the baby was born.

One made it through pregnancy and started treatment soon after her son was born. She was cancer free for about 9 years, then it came back again. She passed away 4 years ago when her son was 18.
My other friend who chose to keep her pregnancy despite the cancer lost her life in December 2003, days after delivering her baby boy.
She left behind 8 children!
I think that was dumb... cause those kids NEEDED their mom... but it was heathers call to make..
So sad those kids grew up without knowing what an awesome woman she was.
