You took both of my points...good one about the STDs too, though.

Seriously, where is it written in the constitution that the government has to provide affordable birth control? I think the Nazis practiced affordable birth control and the Chinese still do. The U.S. even went through a period of eugenics that has since been put to shame.

My apologies for intercepting your brain waves, I hear tin foil hats help! :)

Gov't "officials" don't give a damn about your health - they want their brother in law's insurance company to make billions or keep your tax return to pay the "penalty" for not having their lousy insurance.

While the constitution doesn't address a right to free or low cost birth control, it does say somewhere in that trampled, disregarded charter that the government cannot force the people to contract as it does with this "affordable care act".

As far as STD's and birth control - You wrap your sandwich before you put it in your lunch box but not your . . .before you stick it . . .you get the idea.

The 99¢only store also regularly has 12 packs of condoms. (The off brand they normally sell is a little think and slightly tighter than others, but still work. I've also seen twelve packs of Durex or lifestyles on occasion).
Also pills aren't that expensive. And many clinics (prior to Obamacare) would assist you in getting them low to no cost.
But they're definition of affordable is "free".
I actually think it's a good idea for the government to provide contraceptives, but forcing a third party to finance my sexual choices is silly.

All good points...

Now, if I go to the club and hook up and use the insurance provided birth control is the cost of the drinks covered? If so, is the $5 cover charge considered a co-pay . . .

I don't think anyone is trying to push it that far...Yet.

I felt the same when I made it, however I just meant to point out that it's the last thing we want anybody to ever have to resort to. This is the type of thing that happens anytime anybody decides that the way they think about something should be the only way anybody else thinks about it as well.

I might personally think it's crazy that a person who is unable to afford birth control, will receive medicaid the second they become pregnant, the entire cost of every doctors visit including the birth and all the child's follow up visits after then all fall on the taxpayers. So yeah if it was up to me I say give everybody that wants the pill the pill, even the morning after pill, it just seems silly not to considering the alternative.

That's just my opinion, everybody has one, it's just unfortunate that some people believe theirs is the only one that matters or is worth listening to...

I buy neither the premise nor the figures. But I'll bet, in whatever, if any, bill finally emerges, there is going to be a "compromise" and "free birth control" gets left in.
